Donation Appeal for Orphan Children in Nepal

Background The recent earthquake in Nepal has rendered many children orphans. Most orphan children are from rural villages with no means of support system left for them. Besides this, children living in rural districts in Nepal are vulnerable to various forms of abuses. The earthquake and their orphan status had snatched away their basic protection mechanisms. They are prone to various forms of child exploitations and abuses including child labour, child marriage and involvement in risky and harmful behaviours like child trafficking. As a measure to educate and empower these orphan children, the Punya Foundation, which has been actively involved in the education of vulnerable children, seeks to assist these orphans to attain at least year 10 of education through provision of scholarships. These orphans will be enrolled in public schools and paid for their school fees, school uniform and stationeries.
